I.A.Recordings MineCam has explored Ramsden Shaft of Bog baryte mine in Shropshire's Stiperstones several times, but this recording is a unique event!
The only descent of the shaft by winch was made by members of the Shropshire Caving & Mining Club in September 2007.
Minecam Mk 5 descends with the first explorer and we see all the main features of the shaft including work on the cross-timbers and landing amongst the tangle of metalwork at the bottom, 120m down.
The camera is then carried into the flooded level to show the back of the lining, the start of a stope and the route towards Boat Level.
