We are gradually making all our titles available on DVD-R, but we have to ask the customer to check that their DVD player will play recordable disks (DVD-R) before they order! (The user manual should answer this.) As ever, we will replace any tape or disk that is actually defective, but we obviously can't afford to keep sending and receiving disks that are in good condition, just because a customer's player doesn't cope with the disk format! (This situation applies to all low-volume suppliers of video material on DVD. They will also be using DVD-R or DVD+R, but most prefer not to tell you - they will just say they sell 'DVDs' as if they are the same as those used for Hollywood movies!)
Our more recent titles have been digitally mastered or re-mastered specially for DVD-R. We call these 'Full Feature' DVD-Rs.
The rest of our catalogue is going to be made available on DVD-R copies at the same price as VHS! To release these as soon as possible, they have been copied from the original tape masters, so they don't have fancy menus or added special features. They are being made available due to the falling demand for VHS and of course you will still benefit from the convenience and much higher quality of the DVD format! (We may digitally re-master these earlier titles from time to time and re-release them as full-feature DVD-Rs.)
Check the individual Compilation and Production pages to find which titles are available on DVD-R.
