Video compilation 42: The S.C.M.C. at Onslow Park

In August 1998 the Shropshire Caving and Mining Club and the Shropshire Mines Trust were invited to exhibit again at the prestigious Onslow Park Steam Fair near Shrewsbury.

At the previous year's fair, the SCMC/SMT site had attracted a lot of attention when the large Tinsley steam/compressed air winder recovered only a few weeks earlier from Hem Heath colliery was shown as a static exhibit; and a Pickrose winch from the same pit was used to wind a demonstration rail incline.
(See Compilation No.41: Hem Heath Winders)

In '98, the Tinsley was fully restored and working and the incline was worked by yet another acquisition, a steam capstan winch recovered from Craig Goch mine in Wales, where it had been used to power underground haulage.
