Compilation 20a: Snailbeach; The Final Frontier
Mining history video

Follows the Shropshire Caving & Mining Club as its members descend from daylight through the large stopes of the Baryte workings at the eastern end of the Snailbeach vein. This was the only access to the east end of Perkin's level - last worked in the 1950's, and then blocked by a roof fall.

From this level, exploration can continue down to reach the lead workings. Also see the production "Snailbeach" NGR: (126) SJ 374 022 Recorded August 1990 This tape has no commentary. Running Time: 28 mins. £ 9.87
